I had the pleasure of displaying Tommy the Courageous Bird at the Annual Cerrtios Senior Center Boutique last week. It was such a wonderful event filled with people much more creative than I am. 

I wanted to thank Mrs. Borza for allowing me to place Tommy at her booth. So, Thank You!!!

Tommy Receives Two Reviews

When you give your book to friends and family you realize that they are most likely going to say your book was great no matter how they truly feel. Now they might be giving you an honest review, but the thought of them being kind will always be in the back of your mind. I'm not saying it's not nice to hear or that I take the compliments lightly. But you just never know.

So when I sent out .PDF copies of Tommy to two different authors (Mariana Llanos and Karen Kelly Boyce) to review, I was a little nervous. They don't know me and they had no incentive to give a positive or good review. So when I received word that the reviews were out and there was nothing I could do about the content I felt a tinge of anxiety.

I am happy to say that both reviews were very positive and blew me away. I can't explain adequately what that feeling feels like but let's just say it's a great one.

Children's Museum at La Habra

A quick post to let you know that I will be doing a book reading of Tommy the Courageous Bird at the Children's Museum of La Habra on July 9th at 11am. I will also be signing books purchased at the event. It's all a part of their "Meet the Author!" programming and I am so excited to do it!

First Tommy Book Reading

Today I get the pleasure of reading Tommy the Courageous Bird to some wonderful children at Jubilee Christian School in West Covina. Needless to say I am both excited and a little nervous, primarily because this will be my first one.

Not exactly sure what a book reading entails for sure (other than reading the book) but I'm hoping my recreation  training comes into play. I really want to engage the kids as much as possible before and after the reading with questions and answers.

well, I need to continue to prepare, wish me luck!

I started to build my store of Tommy merchandise at CafePress.com. When all is said and done you'll be available to buy shirts, pajamas, bibs, buttons, keychains, teddy bears, and more!

Still a ways to go but a start is a start.
